International Business–“Zen International”– (Google Exit Already Planned)…
“Zen International”: Google’s exit from the Chinese market may be as soon as April.
According to sources at “Zen International”, internet search engine, Google, may pull out of China on April 10.
The Asia-based investment manager said that the search engine could announce its departure on March 22. Google spoke out against the Chinese government in January by threatening to allow all search results to be displayed on its Chinese-language site including those relating to Tibet and the 1989 Tiananmen Square incident.
“Zen International” suggested that despite talks between the two sides, a resolution has yet to be announced.
A pullout by the American company would prevent it returning to the world’s biggest internet market in terms of users according to the “Zen International” sources.
Google said it made the decision to stop censoring search results after discovering that its computers had been hacked from within China. Google said its systems had been attacked by highly sophisticated means with the intent of obtaining proprietary information as well as the personal data of Chinese human rights activists using the company’s Gmail e- mail facilities.
“Zen International” analysts said that stocks in Google’s rival search engine, Baidu, had surged upon the news because of speculation that its majority Chinese market share would become unassailable upon Google’s exit.
